Alpiq Clearing is a management product for customers who have decided to be a clearing party in Nord Pool's financial and physical markets.

This means that the customers themselves are responsible for all risk, and must post all the necessary guarantees for Nord Pool.

In addition to this, Alpiq Norway can deal with all other aspects of the customer's power purchases:

• Consultancy regarding the power market

• Management of financial hedging of power. The customer must finance the purchase himself.

• Physical reporting of power. The customer must finance the purchase of physical power himself.

• Management of grid rental invoices

• Invoicing including all costs: power, financial results, grid rental and duties on consolidated documents

• Reporting of consumption and cost figures for plants and cost centres, and total costs.

It is a flexible solution, which means that all these areas can be adapted to suit your specific situation.

The portfolio is managed through continuous and dynamic price hedging for the agreed time horizon and within the agreed mandate. We also reduce the uncertainty attached to physical volume by defining the player's periodic consumption/production profile. Reporting is performed in several ways - through manual reports, for example, or via online reporting where you have access to all the reports and can select the ones you need.

• It is the customer who is the player on Nord Pool and the legally responsible party, while Alpiq Norway handles the trade in physical power and the financial price hedging.

• The fact that the customer himself is the legally responsible party means that the customer himself is responsible for all risks that may arise in connection with volume, currency and flexible power.

• The customer receives clearing lists from Nord Pool.

• Alpiq Norway takes care of the day-to-day control and settlement administration.

• Settlements in connection with trading are made directly through Nord Pool.
