OBOS
Alpiq Norway supplies power to OBOS members.
OBOS is an organisation with around 215,000 members. Its business concept is to offer its members the best possible range of residences and residence-related products and services.
OBOS administrates more than 117,000 residences and annually sells approximately 10,000 residences, where members receive discounts of up to 25 per cent on a range of goods, services and culture offers.
The association also has a comprehensive range of offers for housing associations, local authorities and businesses in the fields of construction, maintenance and renovation, as well as appreciable savings and finance operations. For example, the association owns OBOS Forretningsbygg AS, which is a major property company.
Ownersbuy
Alpiq Norway supplies power to Ownersbuy members.
Ownersbuy is a virtual consumer society. Its principal goal is to provide information and help its members to find lower prices in a simple, cost-efficient manner.
Big businesses achieve large discounts, which are often financed by the small consumer through overpricing. The reason for this is that it costs less to sell big. By organising themselves as a large company in Ownersbuy, private consumers can obtain the same conditions as big businesses. Today, Ownersbuy represents purchasing power of comparable size to that of the tenth-largest city in Norway, and provides a large volume of “electronic” customers. In exchange for discounts, their partners can eliminate risky marketing and save both sales and administration costs. Ownersbuy has become a cost-efficient marketing channel and has made granting discounts a good investment.
Venner av LIFE
Venner av LIFE (Friends of LIFE / Literate Instruction For Everyone) is a small, voluntary Norwegian organisation that runs a school project in Gambia. The association currently has around 800 children attending two schools.
Rex Nursery School is the pre-school facility for around 300 children, while the Primary School is for 7 years.
Children can attend the Primary School for four years, and the school teaches approx. 500 pupils. After finishing four years at the Primary School, the pupils receive financial support for renting books and desks from the World Bank to give them the opportunity to continue studying on their own. Children start at the pre-school facility when they are 4-5 years old, and attend Rex Nursery School for 2 or 3 years, depending on how old they are when they begin.
